Interdisciplinary research is more and more popular in the world, and it can help us understand our real world better. The retrieval of all kinds of data, however, is difficult for us, but it is the fundamental of conducting the furtherwork. Here, we introduce that how to get the right ways of obtaining information about the hurricane, typhoon and sea wave height data.

1 Sea wave height

Sea wave height data are well organized by some institutions in the Europe (e.g. EU, Copernicus, ECMWF and Climate Change Service), and go into the homepage to register your account first. Click the Datasets (indicated by the black circle) to goto the search blank.

SWH-1

Here, we give an example of searching sea wave height data. Type swell wave height (black rectangle on the left side) in the search blank, and some results will appear. We choose the first one to show that how to download it.

SWH-2

Click Download data (the red rectangles) to set the options if necessary.

SWH-3

Submit your request by clicking Submit form(the red rectangle).

SWH-4.

Be patient, and a few seconds later (according the data size), the data are prepared. Click Download(the red rectangle) to obtain your data.

2 Hurricane

The main purpose is to obtain the wind speed, path and pressure data of hurricanes, so we directly give the web site (built by the USA). You can find some report documents (e.g. PDF format) of hurricanes, and the site is NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER and CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER. The information about hurricanes is described in these documents, and directly copy the data if necessary.

3 Typhoon

Typhoon data are well collected by China at this web site: 中国气象局热带气旋资料中心, and you can download them directly without registration. Switch to Chinese or English if you are not familiar with the language.
